Greensong products are handmade in small batches, and therefore a slight variation is to be expected. We strive to achieve the highest quality and consistency possible, yet working with natural ingredients does not allow for the same kind of exacting precision possible with laboratory-produced ingredients. We consider this a plus, it means what we produce is real.
If you are dissatisfied with your purchase from Greensong Botanicals for any reason, please contact us to arrange for the return of the product within 10 days of receipt. The purchase price of the product will be refunded when we receive it.
Assertions as to Effectiveness for Specific Health Conditions:
Any assertions of effectiveness we make about our products are based upon general knowledge of the herbs and ingredients contained in our products. No formal testing of our specific formulations has been made, although we do our own testing to see that the products do what we say they will do with no undesirable effects.
If you have any adverse reaction to the use of any Greensong product, discontinue use immediately. Although the ingredients used are generally hypo-allergenic, your particular sensitivities may be triggered, so please pay attention to how your body is reacting.
We make no claims about our products in relation to specific health conditions; natural products simply do not function that way. They have general, holistic effects on our health, and therefore operate within the whole context of your health: other factors such as diet, environmental stressors and toxins, hydration, psychological factors, etc. all contribute to health and the severity of specific conditions. Greensong products are meant to be part of a whole body-mind-spirit approach to good health, so please take this into account, and don't have unrealistic expectations. It takes a long time for your body to develop problems and conditions. Herbal and wholistic approaches to health work over time with your whole body, unlike pharmaceuticals which isolate and concentrate certain chemicals for an all out attack on specific symptoms.
About Preservatives and Keeping Qualities:
Because we strive to keep all Greensong products as healthy for you and natural as possible all Greensong products are made with food grade ingredients and without additional chemical preservatives. What this means is that you cannot expect them to be like the common commercial stuff you buy for their cheap prices in the big stores; they cannot sit around for years and still be exactly the same. But then, you are buying a natural product because you don't necessarily want to be putting all of these preserving chemicals into your body. So it is necessary to use your Greensong products a little differently than your standard drugstore products.
Many natural oils and essential oils have some preservative properties of their own. The oils in Greensong products are chosen and mixed to have high anti-oxidant properties both to benefit your health and to increase the shelf life of the oil. In some cases vitamin E and/or grapefruit seed extract have been added. Many of the essential oils used have dual purposes of health benefits and anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-microbial properties. This being said, the introduction of air, water, heat, and human hands into the products will eventually cause them to spoil, though in most cases—even in the worst conditions—this will take at least a month usually quite a bit longer.
The best way to use these products is to buy small quantities and use them up within a month. If you live on the island you can easily call and get them refilled. If you don't live on the island, consider buying the larger sizes and keep them in the refrigerator. You can take out enough for a week or two and put it in a smaller container to keep out and use. This way you can fully enjoy the benefits of the natural products and maintain the maximum shelf life.
