Deep Cleanse

While the Daily Practice rituals keep your face well maintained and in good condition, all skin types can benefit from a once-a-week exfoliating scrub or the deeper cleanse of a facial mask.

Scrubs remove the dead cells from the skin so that they do not clog pores and it makes way for the new plump, healthy cells to come to the surface. Facial masks draw impurities up and out from deep within the pores. They can be quite beneficial for oily and problem skins as they help to clear up and prevent blackheads, pimples and acne. However, they are also beneficial to other skin types for soothing irritated and inflamed skin, hydrating and nourishing dry and dehydrated skin, and rejuvenating mature skin.

To get the greatest cleansing action from a facial mask make sure your skin has been thoroughly cleansed before you apply the mask. Removing dirt and dead skin cells from your skin's surface will maximize the ability of the clay, reach down into the pores and deep clean.

To use as an exfoliating face scrub: Pour a small amount (try 1 tsp to start) of Deep Cleanse mix into palm or a small dish. Add a little water, hydrosol or toner a few drops at a time to make a paste to your desired thickness. Gently massage paste onto face with soft circular motions. Rinse. Follow with Skin Tonic and Serum Elixir.

To use as a face mask: Pour a small amount (1-2 tsp) of Deep Cleanse into a small dish. Mix with enough water or hydrosol to make a paste thick enough to stay on your face without dripping. Apply the paste to your face leaving plenty of clear space around the eyes. Leave on for anywhere from 3-15 minutes - as long as it feels comfortable for you (sensitive and dry skin may only need a brief time and then will begin to feel tight while oily skin may feel good with a longer time). You will feel the mask dry and harden drawing out impurities from the skin. When you feel complete with the process rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with toner to close the pores and finish with a moisturizer.

For a super nourishing and deeply moisturizing experience you can use various fresh ingredients from your kitchen such as; teas, honey, yogurt, cream, mashed fruit, oatmeal, whipped egg whites, or mashed avocado. Just add the fresh ingredient to the mix with the Deep Cleanse paste and use as directed above.
